Thursday 28th 7pm (dive shed open from 6pm) DRY Session We will be running a revision evening of important SCUBA safety skills and knowledge. The first session will include discussion about diver responsibilities, buddy procedures, emergency procedures, recognising stress and panic when diving and DCS. This session is designed to help us be proactive and reduce risk when we are diving together as a club.

WATER Session

Our water session will revise practical skills that we have discussed in our dry session. This may include but is not limited to: retrieving an unconscious diver from the water onto a Boat or elevated surface, SMB deployment, aiding and approaching distressed/panicked divers, tows and first aid/emergency procedures.

 

These sessions are intended to be a revision for Dive Latrobe members to ensure familiarity and consistency of procedures and expectations between divers and help us to dive safely together.

 

These sessions are not a replacement for a rescue course and will not qualify anyone as competent in these skills.
