Event information

This event is sold out.

Get ready for an epic camping and diving trip to Wilsons Promontory!  Regardless of conditions, we’re in for a fantastic adventure both above and below the water!

Pre-Trip: We will be meeting at the Boat Shed as usual on Thursday the 14th of November. We will organise club gear, compressor and boat. We will also ensure everyone has the required camping equipment.

Departure: We will be meeting at the Boat Shed at 10:00am on Wednesday 20th of November, we will pack everything into the vehicles and hit the road. This will have us at the Prom with plenty of daylight to set up and explore.

Food: All meals whilst at The Prom will be supplied, however these will be quite basic and you may choose to supply extra food yourself. Remember that we will not have electricity and therefore refrigeration is limited to eskys and ice.

Breakfast: Supplied Thur/Friday/Sat/Sun. A selection of cereals, muesli, porridge, fruit and yoghurt will be available. Along with tea, coffee and juice.

Lunch: Supplied Thur/Friday/Sat. A range of Cup-A-Soups and 2-Minute Noodles will be available, plus bread/wraps and cold meats/salads for making your own sandwiches.

Dinner: Supplied Wed/Thur/Friday/Sat. They will be hot meals, but simple in nature, likely pasta one night, a rice dish tacos and BBQ.

Please bring sufficient snacks that you will need for the weekend. There is a General Store at the campground, however their range and prices are unknown. The store also sells a range of Fast Food if you wish to order a hot lunch or dinner, be aware that there is likely high demand for this though.

BYO alcohol.

Dive Gear: Gear hire and all tank refils are included in the price of the trip!

Diving: Diving at Wilsons Promontory is extremely weather dependent. There have been previous years that the weather has prevented any diving from occurring. Even with great conditions, this is our first time diving off Feagle in this area, and the first time launching/retrieving Feagle in unfamiliar conditions via the beach. Obviously, the aim will be for everyone to get underwater, but we do need to be flexible. Luckily, there is plenty to see at The Prom above the water too, and we’re in great company, so we’re going to have an awesome time regardless of conditions.

At maximum capacity, 4 divers will be able to be out on the dive boats at any one time.

Boats: Beach launches in the morning and retrievals in the evening are a peak time of the weekend. There are a lot of public that also use the beach and it is important that as many people as possible are on hand to ensure that the public remain out of the way of the vehicles and lines. Ross and JDZ are in charge of all boat operations and please listen carefully to them during these busy times.

Since spots are limited, if you miss out on registering, don’t worry! Just shoot an email to info@divelatrobe.org.au, and we’ll gladly add you to the waitlist and let you know if anyone can't make it.
